Who We Are
This website is operated by Abundance Network Education, DBA Abundance Network, a U.S.-based nonprofit initiative working to support elected leaders and public-service outcomes through collaboration and shared resources. Our website address is https://abundanceelected.com. You may contact us at elected@abundancenetwork.com.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why
We collect only the information needed to verify your membership, operate the Member Portal and Directory, support connections among members, and improve tools like Abundance Assistant. You control what contact information you share. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for political or commercial targeting, and we do not use it to train external AI models.
Data You Provide Directly
When you register as a member or apply to join the network, we collect your name, email address, phone number, elected title, jurisdiction, and other application details including your “Abundance Affirmation.”
When you fill out any forms (contact, application, profile updates, etc.), we collect the information you submit.
If you upload media (e.g., images), you should avoid embedding location metadata (EXIF GPS).
Before uploading photos, please remove any embedded location metadata (EXIF GPS) to protect your privacy. On iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices you can follow Apple’s official guide for removing location data and preventing its collection.
For Android devices using Google Photos you can control and remove location details before sharing via Google’s support page.
On Windows computers, you can remove metadata (including GPS location) from photo files in File Explorer Properties under “Details” and “Remove Properties and Personal Information.” Instructions here.
Member Directory Data
For verified members, we store limited profile information within the member-only Directory, which is visible only to other authenticated members of the Abundance Elected network. This information may include basic contact details, role or title, jurisdiction, and other member-provided context relevant to participation in the network.
You control what information is visible to other members and may edit, update, or hide optional details at any time through your Member Portal.
This information is used solely to verify membership, support trust and accountability within the network, and enable collaboration among members. We do not sell member data or use it for purposes unrelated to supporting the Abundance Elected community.
Usage and Analytics Data
We may collect usage data — e.g., pages visited, time spent, browser type, session duration — to understand how members and visitors use the Site and to improve our content and features.
Abundance Assistant Interactions
If you interact with Abundance Assistant or other internal messaging/chat features, we may store chat transcripts. Any use of chat content for improving our tools is anonymized — transcripts are not linked to your identity.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used only for the following purposes:
- Verifying your identity and membership credentials
- Operating the Site, Member Portal, and Member Directory
- Facilitating connections and communication among verified members
- Providing resource recommendations and support through Abundance Assistant
- Improving site content, user experience, and internal tools, including analytics and performance optimization
- Supporting administrative, compliance, and organizational needs of Abundance Network
We do not use your data for commercial advertising, political campaign targeting, fundraising targeting.
Data Sharing, Disclosure, and External Use
- We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise monetize your personal data.
- We do not provide your data to third-party marketing, advertising, or political organizations except for organizations or service providers that we partner with to provide tools and services to you.
- We do not permit your data to be used for training external AI models.
- When we use AI technologies, such as OpenAI embeddings or Anthropic’s Claude model via API, only the minimum data required to generate a response is shared. This may include text you submit or context needed to answer your request.
- None of the data we send to these AI providers is used to train their models or added to public or commercial training datasets. While OpenAI and Anthropic may temporarily retain API data for operational or abuse-prevention purposes, they are contractually restricted from using it for model training or improvement.
- Members may opt out of AI-assisted features. If you choose to opt out, your data will not be processed by external AI providers.
- Information is shared only with trusted service providers who support our technical infrastructure (e.g., hosting, email delivery), and only under confidentiality obligations.
- Abundance Assistant operates within a closed system rooted in curated content and data provided by Abundance Network.
- When you ask a question, the system uses technology from OpenAI and Anthropic to interpret it and generate a response based on these internal materials.
- Bot user identities remain anonymous throughout this process and the Bot does not access your private documents.
- In cases required by law or legal process, such as to comply with a subpoena or government reporting obligations, we may disclose information.
Member Directory & Abundance Assistant: How It Works
The Member Directory is accessible only to authenticated members of Abundance Elected. It is not publicly visible and is not indexed by search engines.
The Directory exists to enable verified members to connect, collaborate, and share knowledge — not for public exposure.
Abundance Assistant uses the Directory, member-provided application data, and our internal Knowledge Base to surface relevant resources, connections, and insights.
The Assistant does not expose any private or sensitive application data beyond what you have already approved to show publicly in your profile.
Any chat transcripts used for improving the Assistant are anonymized. Your identity is never tied to those transcripts.
Cookies and Embedded Content
We may use cookies to remember your preferences or login information, help with analytics, and improve user experience.
You can control or disable cookies via your browser settings.
Some content on the Site (for example, embedded videos or social media feeds) may come from third-party websites. These third parties may collect data or use cookies when you interact with their content. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Data Retention
If you leave a comment or submit content through the Site, the comment and its metadata may be retained indefinitely (unless you request deletion).
Membership profile and directory data are stored for as long as you remain a member. If you request account deletion or removal from the Directory, your profile information will be removed within 90 days of your request.
Analytics and usage data are retained in aggregated or anonymized form for internal purposes.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata may be retained indefinitely.
If you register (if applicable), your user profile info is stored until you delete your account. Admins can also edit or remove this data.
Your Rights and Choices
You may access, correct, or update your personal information at any time through your Member Portal under your member profile.
You may request deletion of your profile, directory information, or any personal data by contacting us.

When we do, we will post the revised version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
